How can international students successfully enter the regional job market? The new “Welcome to Work” series of events organized by the Ulm/Oberschwaben Welcome Center is dedicated to precisely this question. To kick things off on June 27, BMW Car IT in Ulm opened its doors to around 30 international students in the region.
In addition to an exciting insight into the corporate world of
, the focus was on practical tips on the application process and personal discussions with developers. The students were able to gain a good impression of the challenges and opportunities that await IT specialists at BMW Car IT. Particularly motivating: the testimonials of an Indian student and another young talent who described their successful start at BMW.
“The exchange with the students was inspiring – we were impressed by their interest and their questions at a high technical level,” says Michael Egetenmeyer, software developer at BMW Car IT.
The event was also a benefit for the participants: “It’s reassuring to see that there are companies here where you can also get off to a good start with English,” said one participant.
With this series, the Welcome Center aims to build bridges – between talented people from all over the world and regional companies. Other partner companies who would like to get to know international students and inspire them to join their company are cordially invited to become part of “Welcome to Work”.
