Depending on your country of origin, occupational field and desired residence permit, recognition of your foreign qualification may be necessary. Further information can be found here.
For university degrees that lead to a non-regulated profession, such as biologist, physicist or linguist, there is no formal recognition procedure as there is for regulated professions or non-academic professional qualifications. Proof of the equivalence of the qualification can be provided via a certificate assessment from the Central Office for Foreign Education or a printout via the anabin database. Further information can be found here.
There are different responsibilities depending on the area in which you completed your degree. You can find the office responsible for you on the Recognition in Germany website.
